A private tented camp, Acaluma Camp offers self-catering tents in attractive surroundings. The camp styles itself as immersion in the natural world, with no external distractions. It is 2km outside the Musiara Gate to the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
There are 4 tents. made up of 2 en-suite doubles and 2 doubles with shared bathroom. There is also a sitting and dining tent. The kitchen is equipped with gas cooker, gas fridge and hot and cold running water.
There is no electricity. Kerosene lanterns are provided. The camp is staffed by a guide, a cook, a room assistant and 2 night guards. Guests should bring food, drinks and torches. There are no charging facilities; cameras and mobile telephones should be fully charged on arrival.
Guests can do game drives in their own vehicle; 4WD vehicles are recommended in the dry season and essential during the rains. Guided game walks in the conservancy are also available. Visitors should take the Narok Nlulot Road, turn left at Ngorengore and left again at Ngorengore Junction. Continue through Lemek and Aitong, and lastly drive 4km in the direction ot Leopard Gorge.
