Microfinance, additionally known as microcredit​, is a type of banking service given to jobless or low-income people or groups who otherwise would have no additional access to financial services, Here is a comprehensive list of some of the well established Micro Finance Banks in Kenya;

Faulu Microfinance Bank Limited.

Faulu Kenya began in 2009. It has developed into a popular microfinance bank with over 35 branches across Kenya. It is one of the most trusted microfinance banks in Kenya.

Kenya Women Microfinance Bank Limited.

Commonly known as Kenya Women’s Finance Trust, the bank rose as a trust fund that developed into a fully-flagged microfinance bank licensed in 2010.

Rafiki Microfinance Bank Limited.

Rafiki Microfinance obtained its license in 2011. Since then the Rafiki microfinance grew to have over 15 branches countrywide.

SMEP Microfinance Bank Limited.

SMEP commenced in 2010 and has ten branches in larger regions in Kenya.

Caritas Microfinance Bank Limited.

Contrasted to the microfinance banks posted above, Caritas is fairly new as it began business in 2015 and has just two branches countrywide.
