JOEY MUTHENGI DOES NOT DATE BROKE MEN
Citizen TV anchor Joey Muthengi has left tongues wagging after revealing her taste for older men.
In a heated debate on the TV station’s morning show, Joey said that she prefers older men since they know what they need out of life.
The topic of discussion was the issue of older men being with younger women.
Her co-host Willis Raburu and panelist Roy Karuhize were part of the discussion.
Willis had asked the two on what could be the main reason making young women go for older men instead of people in their age group.
Roy interjected by suggesting that Joey was better placed to answer.
STABILITY AND REASSURANCE
“As a consumer of older men there is just like stability in that, or reassurance that they know what they need out of life, have learned the lessons that needed to be learned. They are even able to share their knowledge. These young guys are only good in pictures,” replied Ms. Muthengi.
She admitted to preferring a man who has already established himself rather than being in a relationship with a hustler who is just beginning.
“I am looking for security financially, maturity, these are things I need in a relationship. Like I said off camera I spent a lot of my youth with the youths while on campus. What did they do for me?”
She adds: “ati we are hustling together we can’t both be on the same level. Someone needs to have made it. In fact, most of the guys whom you build each other from scratch usually end up leaving the woman for someone else. That is what mostly happens in those types of situations.”

Joey Muthengi News
Former Citizen TV anchor Joey Muthengi has spilled the beans on her struggle with depression that pushed her to be suicidal.
In a recent interview with ‘The Unwritten’, an online magazine, Joey revealed that she got depressed over a long time after she found that her white boyfriend had gotten married.
Joey narrated how she fell in love with her white boyfriend while they were in high school and everything was all good through the years until when she landed her job at Citizen TV in June 2016.
“The love of my life was a white man. I knew him since high school. We were perfect but the logistics around our lives just weren’t matching. We were always traveling on different time zones, different location and I was so keen on climbing the career ladder.
“And when I finally got to Citizen TV, when I was finally feeling like ‘I’ve sort of ‘made it’, I started looking for him again and then I found out he got married… through Facebook of all the places,” said Joey.
This threw her into depression and it was not easy to rally the support of her family
“I was quite depressed for a long time. Even my family couldn’t understand and kept asking ‘what is it about this guy?” Joey added.
The media personality has since moved on.
Joey currently works at the Voice of America radio station.
