The school was founded by the late Internal security Permanent Secretary Hezekiah Oyugi in 1985. Kanga High School aims to prepare students to make a positive contribution to the development of the society and to acquire the values of national patriotism, self-respect, self-reliance, cooperation, adaptability, a sense of purpose and self-discipline.
Kanga High School is classified as a public secondary school and is funded by the government of Kenya and managed through a board of governors and parent-teacher associations (PTA).

Kanga High School KCSE Results
Individual candidates can check their KCSE results by SMS or online using an SMS number or website link provided at the release of the exam. Candidates and parents should visit the school for their official results slip. Results for all candidates and the school national, county and local ranking can also be found from the schools’ office.
The ministry of education advises parents teachers and pupils to check the KCSE result slip for any anomaly such as incorrect candidate’s name, school name and code as well as wrong subject grade and report to KNEC within a month after the announcement.

Kanga High School History
This is a boys only national public boarding secondary school located in Rongo constituency in Migori county. The school was founded by the late Internal security Permanent Secretary Hezekiah Oyugi in 1985. When it started, the school had no structures, prompting them to be housed at St. Joseph’s secondary school, Rapogi. The school gots its first bus [which was actually a minibus] in 1989 via a donation from Mr. Oyugi.. When the students sat for their Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education [KACE] examinations in 1988, the school emerged position six nationally which was a joy to many. The school is well known for acing mathematics and physics examinations.
Notable alumni from the school include Mark Rachuonyo who is the Dean of Students at Mount Kenya University, Washington Ng’ang’a who is a UK based businessman and local political aspirant, Ngiela Benson Ochieng’ who is a well- known Grants Management Professional, Mark Oloo and Edwin Anjago, who are sub editors of the Standard Group.
The school is situated along the Kisii- Migori road in North Kanyajuok sub location, South Kamagambo location, Rongo division, Migori District in Rongo constituency in Migori county, Kenya. The student- teacher ratio in the school is 18.3 and the school has a total teaching staff of over 44. The school sits on a 23 acre piece of land. The schools that neighbor it include Kanga Primary school, St. John’s seminary Rakwaro, Rare Primary School and Rakwaro primary school.
In 2018, the school became the second best school in the county with a mean score of 7.4 [C+] after Rapogi Boys [8.2] . The school has always been known to do so well in Maths.
