KPLC Paybill Number 2020

KPLC Paybill Number payment system was introduced as a convenient way to settle your electricity bills using your phone without much hassle. The system has different pay bill numbers both for the prepaid and postpaid service.

Kplc Prepaid Paybill Number, Kplc Token Paybill Number

The Kenya Power M-PESA Paybill Number for prepaid customers (those who use prepaid meters) is 888880.

Kplc Token Delay

In order to purchase KPLC tokens in case you experience any delay, you will need to visit the Kenya Power banking halls and get assistance from their agents at the vending machines. Give the representative the money and tell the exact KPLC tokens amount you want to buy (for example, it may be Ksh 1000). They will then give you tokens from their vending machines.

How to Check KPLC Token Balance

One way of evading inconveniences created by delayed KPLC tokens is to always check your balance regularly. You can observe your prepaid meter to check your usage.

You can also use Telegram or the Kenya Power app to view your balance and earlier transactions.

How to Check KPLC Token Balance on Telegram

The KPLC bot on telegram allows you to check your last token as well as five past tokens and all debts. First, you need to download and start the telegram app. Follow the KPLC (Kenya Power bot) bot and touch on the menu and select your desired option.

Kplc Postpaid Paybill Number

The Kenya Power M-PESA Paybill Number for postpaid customers (those who are billed monthly)  is 888888.

How to pay your Electricity bill with KPLC Mpesa pay bill number (Safaricom Subscribers)

How to Pay KPLC bill via M-Pesa – Paying your Electricity Bill with Kenya Power M-Pesa pay bill number for postpaid customers

  1. Go to Safaricom SIM Tool Kit on your phone, select M-PESA menu, select “Lipa Na M-PESA“
  2. Select “Pay Bill”
  3. Enter the Kenya Power business number for postpaid customers which is 888 888 and press ‘OK”
  4. Enter your new Kenya Power account number e.g. 123456.
  5. Key in the amount you wish to pay for your electricity which should be between Ksh. 100 and Ksh. 35, 000.
  6. Enter your four-digit secret M-PESA PIN.
  7. Confirm if all the details are correct then press “OK”.
  8. You will get a notification with the intended recipient’s name e.g. “Pay Kenya Power KSh 3000.00 for Account 0100 xxxx xxxx x to STOP this transaction, send any letter or number within 25 seconds. Pressing “Cancel” completes the transaction.
  9. You will receive an SMS from M-PESA for confirmation of your transaction.

How to Pay KPLC bill via M-Pesa – Paying your Electricity Bill with Kenya Power M-Pesa pay bill number for Prepaid customers

  • Go to Safaricom SIM Tool Kit on your phone, select M-PESA menu, select “Lipa Na M-PESA“
  • Select “Pay Bill”

  • Enter your new Kenya Power account number e.g. 123456.

  • KPLC then generates a prepaid token number valid for your meter and sends it via SMS.

KPLC also has a playbill number that applies to both Prepaid and Postpaid customers. 501200, is a KPLC Paybill Number that you can use to settle your electricity bill for both Prepaid and Postpaid service.

Please note that Kenya Power M-PESA pay bill number takes 48 hours to update.

How to pay your Electricity bill with KPLC Airtel paybill number (Airtel Subscribers)

Paying your electricity bill with Kenya Power pay bill number (Airtel)

  • Select ”Airtel Money” from the menu.
  • Click on “Make Payments“.
  • Select “Paybill“.
  • Choose Kenya Power Bill for postpaid bill OR Kenya Power Prepaid for purchase of tokens.
  • Enter the amount you wish to pay.
  • Enter your Airtel Money PIN.
  • Under the reference option, type your full Kenya Power account number e.g. 123456-01.6. Confirm that all details are correct.
  • You will receive a confirmation of the transaction via SMS.

Please note that Kenya Power pay bill takes 48 hours to update.

KPLC Paybill Number – How to check your KPLC bill online and by phone

KPLC has the E-bill service that allows you to check your electricity account balance and bill due date any time via SMS or e-mail.

How to Check Electricity Bill By Phone

This service allows you to query your electricity account balance and bill due date using your mobile phone. The service is charged at Kshs. 5/- above the normal SMS rates.

  • Open a new SMS message on your phone.
  • Type the first part of your account number in the message box. If your KPLC account number is 667788-02, key in 667788.
  • Send the message to 95551.
  • You will receive an automatic reply with your account balance details in a few seconds. The E-bill SMS Service only works for Kenyan networks.

How to Check Electricity Bill By Phone

This service enables you to check your electricity account balance and bill due date online via e-mail.

  • Open a new e-mail message
  • Type the first part of your KPLC account number in the subject box. For example, if your account number is 556678-03, just key in 556678.
  • Email the message to bill@kplc.co.ke
  • You will receive an automatic reply with your account balance details and payment due date within a few minutes.

KPLC Pay bill Number – Equitel

  •  Select Eazzy Pay from your Equitel menu
  •  Select Pay Bill from Eazzy Pay.
  • Choose the bank account number to pay from e.g.0123456789102
  • Select business number – KPLC Tokens
  •  Enter your KPLC Prepaid Meter Number (e.g. 37168917674) press OK
  •  Enter the amount you wish to pay which should be between Shs. 100 and  Shs.500,000.
  •  Enter your Equitel PIN and press OK
  •  Confirm that all details are correct by pressing 1 OK
  •  You will receive a  text confirmation of the transaction from Equity bank.
  • KPLC will then generate prepaid token valid for your meter and send via SMS.1

Paying your Electricity Bill with Equitel (Sim Tool Kit)

  • Select Eazzy Pay from your Equitel menu select Pay Bill from Eazzy Pay.
  • Choose the bank account number to pay from e.g.0123456789102
  • Select business number – KPLC Bills (Post Paid)
  •  Enter your new Kenya Power meter number e.g. 2831172 or 3436980.
  •  Enter the amount you wish to pay which should be between Shs.100 and  Shs.500,000.
  •   Enter your Equitel PIN and press OK
  •  Confirm that all details are correct by pressing 1 OK.
  •  You will receive a  text confirmation of the transaction from Equity bank.

KPLC Pay bill Number – How to pay your Kenya Power bill (KPLC bill) by Cash

KPLC M-PESA Paybill Number – KPLC Cash Payment

As a rule, all cash payments should be made at Kenya Power’s authorized pay points which are located within official premises and the paying counters clearly marked CASHIER.

KPLC Paybill Number KPLC Payment via Postal Corporation of Kenya

You can also pay your bill in any of the over 200 post offices countrywide.

KPLC Paybill Number – KPLC Payment Via Uchumi Supermarkets

Selected Uchumi supermarkets are additional alternative paying points. They include:

  • Ngong Hypermarket
  • Uchumi Meru

If you have an account with Co-operative Bank, Postbank or Standard Chartered Bank, you may also pay your bill through any of these banks’ Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs).

You may also pay your electricity bill by cash through appointed Co-operative Bank branches in Nairobi. Additionally, you can pay your electricity bill at any branch of the following banks countrywide.

  • National Bank of Kenya (at no extra cost)

  • Co-operative Bank
  • Standard Chartered
  • Postal Corporation of Kenya (at no extra cost)

Kenya Power Paybill Number – Cheque Payments

Cheques may be deposited in designated boxes in pay centers and at specific business premises appointed by Kenya Power to serve as drop-off points.

Kenya Power Paybill Number – Bill Payment Through M-Banking

If you are a Co-operative Bank customer, your mobile phone is now an electricity bill payment point. To use the service, one must be registered with the bank for M-Banking service and also one must have registered their Kenya Power account number with the bank.

Kenya Power Paybill – E-bill

E-bill is an electronic bill querying service from Kenya Power. It allows you to check your electricity account balance and bill due date any time, by SMS or e-mail.

E-bill SMS Service

The E-bill SMS service allows you to query your electricity account balance and bill due date using your mobile phone. Follow these easy steps:

  • Open a new SMS message.
  • Type the first part of your account number in the message field. For example, if your account number is 998877-01, just type 998877.
  • Send this message to 95551.
  • In a few seconds, you will receive an automatic reply with your account balance details. This service works for Kenyan networks. It is charged at Kshs. 5/- above the normal SMS rates.

E-bill e-mail Service

The E-bill e-mail service enables you to check your electricity account balance and bill due date via e-mail. Here are the simple steps to follow:

  • Open a new e-mail message.
  • Type the first part of your account number in the subject field. For example, if your account number is 998877-01, just type 998877.
  • Email the blank message to the bill(at)kplc.co.ke Within a few minutes you will receive an automatic reply with your account balance details and payment due date.

It is important to key in the correct account number and follows the procedure of sending the message in order to get a positive response. Also note that despite the introduction of E-bill services, your detailed electricity bill will continue to be dispatched through your postal address.
