A Guide To Mnarani
Mnarani is Swahili word for “place of the pillar” in reference to an engraved 13th century pillar tomb that marks the grave of a sultan. It includes one of the deepest wells found along the southern coast, and an 800-year-old baobab claimed to be the largest in Kenya.
Situated 60km North of Mombasa on the cliffs of Kilifi Creek, just where the creek meets and merges with the Indian Ocean, Mnarani provides perfectly for the beach and turquoise ocean under one foot, and the activity and adventure of creek-life under the other.
Set in 40 acres of landscaped tropical garden, fragranced by Frangipani blossoms and balmy ocean breezes, Mnarani is an idyllic retreat and holiday destination. Paths through the enticing gardens lead you down onto the soft white sand of Mnarani’s private cove.
This beautiful, sheltered little beach offers great facilities for water sports –from sailing to exhilarating water-ski and wake boarding – or for simply enjoying a refreshing swim, or relaxing on a lounger under a thatched parasol. With breathtaking surroundings and recreational facilities that cater for every taste, Mnarani is the ultimate destination for your family holiday, or that well-deserved romantic getaway or unforgettable honeymoon.
At Mnarani, you are more than just a guest; you are a friend of Kenya. For this reason, we are always hard at work to ensure that your stay with us is fun-filled and memorable.
Our Animation team is constantly revising and improving on the Animation Program – each month sees a new, jam-packed calendar of events, carefully planned for your pleasure. We make every effort to ensure that we offer activities that cater to all ages; the variety means that there is always something that appeals to everyone.

If Kenyan adventure is what you are after, ask one of our friendly and helpful staff members about the excursions that we offer. The colourful Mnarani village, home to most of our staff, is a safe walk away and will give you a taste of Kenyan culture.
