MPesa registered customers can now pay their Safaricom PostPay bills as well as bills for services received from a selected number of MPesa partners. Through MPesa PayBill numbers, vendors have been able to serve their clients much better and their customers have been able to pay for services with ease and timeliness. Safaricom’s payment solutions have enabled simple single transactions as well as bulk payments whenever necessary. Take advantage of M-PESA’s payment solutions and ease your financial transactions today.

Existing M-PESA rules apply when paying bills: maximum transaction amount per day is Ksh 140,000 and the maximum amount transferable per transaction is Ksh 70,000.

MPesa Paybill Numbers – Pay your Safaricom PostPay Bill:

  1. You need to be an M-PESA registered customer
  2. Ensure you have sufficient funds in your M-PESA account to cover the amount you are paying
  3. Go to M-PESA on your phone Menu
  4. Select Payment Services
  5. Select PayBill
  6. Enter the business number 200200
  7. Enter the mobile number or account number you wish to make payment to
  8. Enter the amount you wish to pay (between Ksh10 – Ksh70,000)
  9. Enter your M-PESA PIN
  10. Confirm details are correct and press OK
  11. Your PostPay account will be updated within the hour

MPesa Paybill Numbers – Pay other Bills:

  1. You need to be an M-PESA registered customer
  2. Go to M-PESA on your phone menu
  3. Select Payment Services
  4. Select PayBill
  5. Enter ‘Business Number’ of the company you are making payment to*
  6. Enter the ‘Account Number’ of the bill you wish to pay*
  7. Enter the amount you wish to pay (between Ksh10 – Ksh70,000)
  8. Enter your M-PESA PIN
  9. Confirm details are correct and press OK
  10. Click on the quick bar on the side to check out our Pay Bill partners.

MPesa Paybill Numbers – Safaricom Care Centres

Confirm if the company you intend to pay the bill to accepts payments via M-PESA before transferring cash. They will give you their ‘Business Number’ and advise on the appropriate ‘Account Number’ that you will enter into your M-PESA menu while making the payment. They will also advise on any applicable charges.

Safaricom Paybill Numbers – How to check the cost of a transaction to any Mpesa PayBill number

  1. Dial *234#
  2. Select “Tariff Query”
  3. Select the “ Lipa na M-PESA” option
  4. Enter the PayBill number
  5. Enter the amount
  6. You will receive a notification of how much it will cost you to make the payment of the specified amount.

Commonly used Safaricom Paybill Numbers

Safaricom Mpesa Paybill number – To pay for your Safaricom PostPay Bill by MPesa:

  1. You need to be an M-PESA registered customer.
  2. Ensure you have sufficient funds in your M-PESA account to cover the amount you are paying.
  3. Select ‘Pay Bill’ from your M-PESA menu
  4. Enter the business number 200200
  5. Enter the mobile number or account number you wish to pay for.
  6. Enter the amount you wish to pay (between Ksh100 – 35,000)
  7. Enter your M-PESA PIN
  8. Confirm details are correct and press OK

    Your postpaid account will be updated within the hour

KPLC Mpesa Paybill Number – How To Pay Electricity Bill by MPesa (Safaricom)

1. Select “Pay Bill” from the M-Pesa menu.
2. Enter the Kenya Power business number 888 888 for postpaid  and 888 880 for prepaid meters 
3. Enter your full Kenya Power account number e.g. 123456-01 or meter number prepaid customers.
4. Enter the amount you wish to pay which should be between Shs. 100 and Shs.35,000.
5. Enter your M-Pesa PIN.
6. Confirm that all details are correct.
7. You will receive a confirmation of the transaction via SMS.

Please note that it takes 48 hours for Kenya Power to update your post-pay account.

DSTV Mpesa Paybill Number – How to Pay DStv using MPESA Paybill Number 444900

  1. Go to M-PESA menu, select “Lipa na M-PESA”
  2. Select “Paybill”
  3. Select “Enter business no.” and enter the MultiChoice Kenya (DStv) business number: 444900 and press “OK”
  4. Select “Enter account no” i.e. DStv Account Number and press “OK”
  5. Enter amount. monthly subscription amount and press “OK”
  6. Enter your M-PESA PIN and press “OK”
  7. Confirm all the details are correct and press OK
  8. You will receive a confirmation SMS from MPESA immediately.
  9. DStv will then update your account within 1 hour.

On the M-Pesa menu:

  1. Select Pay bill option
  2. Enter HELB business number as 200800
  3. Enter your National ID number as your account number
  4. Enter the amount you want to pay e.g. 3000
  5. Enter your secret PIN number
  6. Confirm the transaction and send
  7. Wait for SMS confirmation.
