Nakuru Girls High School is located in the Nakuru Town constituency in Lanet. It is part of the Nakuru district in Nakuru County.
Nakuru Girls High School was started in 1922 when the White Settlers conceived a school for their children at the current location. In the year 1927, the ‘Nakuru European School’ was officially commissioned to cater exclusively for children of the White settlers from the ‘Western Region’ of the then British Colonial Kenya.
Nakuru Girls High School was initially a ‘European Only’ School but with the attainment of independence in the year 1953 and following recommendations of the Otiende Commission, racial segregation was abolished in the schooling system.
The Nakuru European School was taken over by the government and ordered to admit students from all the races. Most White settlers withdrew their children from the school as a result of not wanting their children to learn in the new integrated system.

At least 213 students, out of 227 candidates who sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, scored a mean grade of C plus and above, thus qualifying to join public universities.
The Panafrican Group, in partnership with Knowledge Empowerment Youth Trust, have donated 1,500 books, 50 chairs, shelves, 10 tables, and two computers.
The FMD East Africa General Manager, Agricultural Division, Fergus Robley said that they were greatly impressed by the results posted by Nakuru Girls and as part of their initiative in boosting the standards of education among the girls they decided to renovate the library to provide conduce environment for the girls while they are reading for themselves.Mr. Fergus Robley also added that they are the luckiest group and they should translate the good gesture by making sure they make use of the books by reading them and also make use of the computers in the laboratory for good results in the national exams.
Nakuru Girls High School Principal Christine Chumba, while thanking the donors said that and hard work by teachers and support staff played a key role in the remarkable results. She said that was a great achievement and they attribute it to teamwork.

Candidates and parents should visit the school for their official results slip. Results for all candidates and the school national, county and local ranking can also be found from the schools’ office.
The ministry of education advises parents teachers and pupils to check the KCSE result slip for any anomaly such as incorrect candidate’s name, school name and code as well as wrong subject grade and report to KNEC within a month after the announcement.
