Thika Sports Club was started as a social club and later launched as a golf course 1947. With a course of nine holes, it is described to be one of the easiest courses in Kenya. The club hosted its biggest event, The Winston Churchill Cup tournament, in 1949
Thika Sports Club is an only member’s golf club, emanating pure beauty with its breathtaking sceneries of the Aberdare ranges, Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimambogo. The club is Located along the Thika Superhighway, barely half a kilometer from the Blue post Hotel where the famous Chania and Thika falls meet in a twin bridge. The golf club is situated in a serene environment to ensure tranquility, relaxation and comfort. The 18 hole golf course is luxuriant with lash green grass, trimmed to perfection and gives an exciting challenge from tee to green.
Began in the year 1922, The Thika Sports Club was an all exclusive European club, however over time it has opened its doors to anyone who might want to indulge in its splendor. From the Capital, Nairobi via the superhighway, accessibility to the Club is fairly easy. The Club boasts over 1000 members, and first-class sports and entertainment facilities. It is the perfect place to enjoy family activities and events like birthday parties, weddings, swimming, and you can play an array of available sports, such as golf, squash, basketball and tennis.
The club offers a fully equipped gym and affordable accommodation. For tasty meals and snacks feel free to order from their picturesque restaurant which, serves delicious mouthwatering meals. You can also buy sporting equipment from our well stocked Pro Shop.

If you want to play golf on an (18) eighteen hole course anywhere between Nairobi and Mt. Kenya, Thika Sports Club is the place to be. The course is adorned with a great mix of indigenous trees and rare birds, away from the dust and smoke of town. You open your lungs to the breeze of fresh air along well irrigated fairways. Your swing will be amazing here.

Thika area enjoys beautiful warm weather all year round thus one can swim anytime of the year. Available is a spacious swimming pool for you and your family, inclusive of the very young ones in the baby pool. You won’t need the beach with such a warm pool and you can picnic by the poolside after the swim.
Family events are best hosted on the pool side for example children’s birthdays, wedding and graduation parties and other types of receptions.
After work every day, if you wish to play an indoor game that will leave you well exercised the club has a good squash court. You can book a game any time in the day by calling the captain on 0722 697751.
The tennis courts carry the heritage of the club. The first two courts date back to 1925, you will be playing on the same courts the club fathers played in. Two more courts are available to ensure maximum accommodation. You won’t miss space. Our wonderful instructor will propel your children to Olympic level.

Steam&Sauna rooms create very good respiratory conditions with the humidity level at 100%. People with coughs and lung problems sometimes use a steam room to soothe their respiratory systems. Steam rooms are also more hydrating for your skin .

Thika Sports Club a has a fully stocked Pro-Shop selling sporting equipment available for purchase or hire.
