Kenyatta National Hospital Nursing School
KNH School of Specialized Nursing was established in 1996 to build capacity for specialized areas within the Hospital such as Critical Care Unit, Theatre, Renal, A&E and Newborn Unit from which the general units/wards have also benefited. The School offers Post Basic Diploma Specialized Nursing courses.
The courses started as in-house in the initial years and were later extended to nurses from other institutions within the country. Currently, the school receives students from the East and Central Africa region. All courses offered in the School are registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) on full time basis over one calendar year. Approximately 100 nurses graduate from the school each year. Graduates from the KNH School of Nursing have made an impact in several institutions in Kenya, the East and Central African region and beyond.

The school offers two intakes each year specified below;
1.April intake – Nephrology, Accident & Emergency and Neonatal Nursing Courses.
–Applications by 31stDecember each year
–Courses commence by 3rd Monday of April
2.September intake – Critical Care and Peri-Operative Nursing Courses.
–Applications by 31st May each year.
–Courses commence 1st Monday of September
