Webuye is home to Broderick Falls of the river Nzoia. The town is located on the main railway from Mombasa to Uganda.

Webuye is home to the Tachoni tribe. Since the time of imemorial, the Bukusu subtribe were only welcome during the war of chetambe. Bukusu were running away from the white after being defeated during the warof lumboka .
